Writing Task “Request for Information” in the Telc B2 German Exam

What is the goal of this task?

In this task, you are asked to write a formal email requesting specific information. The prompt usually includes a short advertisement or notice (e.g. about a course, a trip, a seminar, or a service). Your task is to formulate at least four clear and relevant questions about the offer – written in a polite, structured, and formal style.

What do you have to do?

You must write a formal email asking for more information about the offer. Important: This is not an application, but an information request. Key elements examiners look for:

  • Polite greeting and introduction
  • Four or more meaningful questions
  • Friendly and formal closing
  • Clear structure and proper formatting
