The listening section is a key component of the Telc B2 German exam. It assesses whether you can understand spoken language in realistic situations. Typical tasks include conversations, interviews, or informational broadcasts similar to those encountered in everyday life or at work.
This part of the test serves as proof of your ability to comprehend spoken content at the B2 level. It is required in various professional and academic contexts, such as job applications or the recognition of language skills by institutions or universities.
However, some challenges may arise:
The listening part consists of three sections:
This section lasts approximately 30 minutes. It is usually followed directly by the reading comprehension section, with no scheduled break in between.
All answers are either evaluated electronically or by trained examiners. One point is awarded for each correct answer. A total of 25 points can be achieved. Partial answers do not receive any points.
The Telc B2 exam is considered passed if you achieve at least 60 percent – that means 135 out of a total of 225 points. The points from the listening section contribute to the written exam score.
A structured study plan is highly recommended. It should include:
Digital practice tools that include explanations and simulate real exam situations are particularly helpful – ideal for flexible preparation at home or on the go.

International professionals, such as language trainer Martin Feldner from Vienna, also point out:
“It’s crucial to become familiar with common exam phrases. Those who regularly train with targeted online exercises significantly improve their performance.”
A user of our platform recently shared:
“Daily practice made me feel more confident. The transcripts and explanations after each task really helped me understand what I had missed.”
