The B1 Beruf Lesen exam is one of the most important modules in the job-related German proficiency test. Anyone who wants to work in Germany or advance professionally must demonstrate the ability to understand and interpret job-related texts in everyday situations. This part of the exam is designed precisely for that purpose.
In the reading section of the B1 Beruf exam, you will work with several short texts from everyday professional life. These include work instructions, notices, announcements, emails, job ads, or short texts from various fields. The goal is to quickly identify relevant information and assign it correctly.
The exam lasts about 30 minutes and consists of several tasks. These tasks are structured to reflect typical workplace scenarios. Good preparation gives you a real advantage here.
To help you prepare specifically for this test, we offer numerous exercises on our platform. All exercises are adapted to the actual exam format and include solutions and detailed explanations. This way, you not only learn what the correct answer is but also understand the reasoning behind it.
If you want to prepare well, you should regularly practice with real job-related texts. For example, read internal memos, job applications, safety instructions, or simple technical texts in German. Practice with authentic tasks that combine reading with targeted comprehension.
Another key aspect is time management. Many exam tasks require you to quickly identify and logically interpret information. Our exercises are designed to help you build exactly that skill.
Olena Bazalukova is a German teacher by profession and the founder of deutsch-vorbereitung.com. She personally created all B1 Beruf Lesen exercises or developed them in collaboration with experienced teachers and examiners. Her advice: “Many learners underestimate this part of the exam. But if you practice regularly and analyze the tasks carefully, you can feel confident. Pay close attention to details in the text – that’s where typical mistakes often happen.”
All content on the platform has been designed to be both accurate and exam-oriented. This gives you a realistic and effective preparation – with real added value for your German exam.
Anna Chin: „Hello, from August to October I prepared for the B1 exam with Olena. As a result, I passed the exam and received my B1 certificate. I would like to say that the training with Olena gave me more knowledge than the courses, because during those months my listening, reading, and writing skills improved noticeably. Speaking, of course, depends on vocabulary, but we practiced dialogues and naturally spoke more together as well.“
Yulia Kozachuk: „This is the best website for exam preparation. The information is presented in a clear and comprehensive way. I'm glad there's an option to check the result immediately after the exercise.“
Danijela Delic: „Thank you very much for the detailed preparation page.“
