The written A1 exam by telc tests whether you are able to write simple texts in everyday situations – especially short letters, messages, or emails. This skill is particularly important if you want to live or work in Germany or successfully complete an integration course. The main focus is not only on correct use of vocabulary and grammar, but also on whether you understand the writing situation properly and convey the required information clearly and completely.
In the exam, you are given a specific situation. For example, you may need to write a letter to decline an invitation, ask for information, or reschedule an appointment. The task usually consists of three to four points, all of which must be covered in your text.
Your text should be between 30 and 50 words long. You will be assessed not only on language accuracy, but also on structure, completeness, and clarity.
